Dr. Costlow received his Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University in 1985, where he played football all four years. He is a 1990 graduate of the Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine. During his studies in veterinary school, he was inducted into the Phi Zeta Organization for academic excellence.

Dr. Costlow has extensive experience in emergency and critical care medicine and has owned veterinary hospitals since 1997. His first hospital is now among the largest hospitals in New Jersey. He has appeared regularly on FOX Television’s “Good Day Cleveland,” where he presented various topics on pet healthcare.

Dr. Costlow founded Veterinary Innovative Partners to help ensure that the local veterinarian will remain in charge of the local veterinary hospital. He believes that each animal hospital has its own culture, and this is vital to the profession.

“Non-veterinarian owned firms controlling animal hospitals are a threat to the integrity of the profession. I have worked as a receptionist, technician, kennel attendant, and veterinarian. I believe this is important in understanding the issues that the local hospital staff deals with daily.”

In his free time, Dr. Costlow enjoys spending time with his wife and children, as well as competing in CrossFit competitions.
