“Chance favors the prepared mind” – Louis Pasteur
Dr. Adam Ainspan graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 1989. He completed an internship in companion animal medicine and surgery at Monroe Veterinary Associates in Rochester, New York in 1990.
Dr. Ainspan has practiced companion animal medicine and surgery in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area since 1990. After the acquisition of multiple animal hospitals in Virginia and New York, Dr. Ainspan co-founded Veterinary Innovative Partners.
Dr. Ainspan saw early on how consolidation was changing the industry. He saw how non-veterinary professionals, investors, and certain large corporations were dictating the changes in our industry. Investors saw Veterinary Medicine as a profit center, overlooking what was best for patients, clients, and team members.
Dr. Ainspan started Veterinary Innovative Partners to be the dissenting voice of veterinarians in the Veterinary Industry.
Dr. Ainspan has utilized his training as an economist and a veterinarian to develop, with his partners, a business model that uniquely and equally emphasizes forward-thinking veterinary and economic concepts.
In addition to Veterinary Innovative Partners, Adam has held many corporate executive positions where he learned invaluable leadership skills.
His passion for helping grow veterinary organizations lead him to serve as the Finance Chair for the Hope Center, a multi-discipline referral veterinary hospital in Virginia and Maryland. Dr. Ainspan oversaw the development of a CEO incentive package and a formalized budget process in this position. He led negotiations for laboratory contracts and developed strategic partnerships with industry leaders to invest in the Hope Center’s future expansion.
Adam embraces all aspects of Veterinary Medicine, not limited to small animals. He is the CEO of Graham Grace Stables, an innovative thoroughbred and standardbred venture. Graham Grace sires, broodmares, and offsprings have won numerous awards and own multiple stakes and national records.
When not working, Adam enjoys spending time with his wife, two children, and his menagerie dogs, cats, and horses. He enjoys boxing, golf, playing the violin, and baseball.
